Maureen Cameron
General Manager, Hotel Revival
FOOD PATRONUS | A blue cheese-stuffed olive. An acquired taste, full of funky goodness, and pairs well with a martini.
EARLY DAYS | I grew up near Pittsburgh (so die-hard Steelers fan). I am the oldest of four girls and daughter of an OB/GYN- so it was an interesting and woman-forward childhood, to say the least! My maiden name was Dzialowski, so it was a goal to find someone with a more common last name, thank god I did! My entire family is in the medical field, and one shadow visit to the OR, and I knew I could NEVER. So- hotels it was! I love people, I love being creative, and it was a direction I took and never looked back.
EDUCATION | Started life in private school, then public high school (had to spice things up a bit), and then off to a small hospitality university in New Jersey. I quickly learned I was not tan enough to date ANYONE in Jersey, so I was very focused on my education. I traveled to England to study abroad and loved every minute of it. I still say I would move to London in a heartbeat!
BACKGROUND CHECK | I started in hospitality in high school, working at Red Robin bussing tables and then more importantly, became the mascot Robin itself. What a time to be alive that was. I interned at hotels in college, and then went on to work at a golf club in New Jersey for several years. I moved to Colorado for a short while, also working for a golf club. Once I realized nature and I do NOT mix, I hightailed it back to Jersey where I started working for W Hotels, moved into NYC and continued my Starwood journey. That journey lead me to Washington, DC with Hyatt Hotels, which led to marriage and mom life out in the burbs! So we are nestled between DC and Baltimore, which is how I ended up at the best- Hotel Revival!
I started with New Waterloo in May of 2023 when they began managing Hotel Revival. For anyone who was at the table when the announcement was made- I was sobbing. And not a cute, happy sob. But an UGLY uncontrollable sob. It was a new company, and my emotions got the best of me and I don't know, I was being me. But it turned out to be the best move for everyone, and I truly couldn't be happier to be a part of this company. I started with NW as Director of Sales and I am now leading the hotel as General Manager.
WHY I LOVE NW | Stacie! (kidding David, but not really). Honestly, everyone I have the pleasure of working with. Everyone is in this together, and it shows each and every day.
HOSPITALITY PHILOSOPHY | Hospitality is such a journey. Guests arrive at the hotel, and we need to meet them where THEY are. Which is a tough thing to do because that is so different for everyone. We aren't selling rooms or food, we are selling a feeling- an emotion.
SUPER POWER | Skee Ball- don't even try me.
