FOOD PATRONUS | A great bottle of bubbles.
ROOTS | I grew up in Aspen, Colorado, where life in a small resort town meant all the kids played every sport and spent Thursdays selling the local newspaper in front of the shops. I fell in love with the hospitality industry in my sophomore year, when my basketball coach and business teacher helped me secure an internship at a local hotel. A fun fact, during an Outward Bound trip, I wrote in my journal that I would one day be the CEO of a hotel company.
SMARTS | I attended the University of Denver’s Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management, where I quickly realized I had no desire to work for large hotel brands. After graduation, I returned to the ski resorts, where the fast-paced, seasonal environment offered opportunities to advance quickly from one season to the next.
BODY OF WORK | My favorite role was serving as Director of Events for a local hotel in Aspen, where I took guests on daily Jeep trips into the mountains and capped each adventure by cooking a fabulous dinner for them back at the property. Another fun fact, my first job out of college was at Keystone Ski Resort, where I managed housekeeping and maintenance for the condominium units. And like so many of us in this industry, I ended up hiring a maintenance team member who later became my husband.
HOSPITALITY PHILOSOPHY | Never divide your salary by the hours you put in everyday. Our industry is about having a deep passion for our employees, customers, and the communities we reside in.
FAVE THING ABOUT NW | The variety of assets from hotels to restaurants and, of course, a golf course.
SUPER POWER | Getting it done!
