EARLY DAYS | I grew up in the Hill Country – Bulverde, Texas. Texas forever, baby. I started in restaurants at 16 as a host and fell in love with the fast-paced environment. Hostess turned server, then garde manger, then line cook. I peeled a lot of shrimp sitting on upside-down Home Depot buckets and learned a forever lesson: don’t break down the line early or you’ll be making beurre blanc on the fly (yes, we comped the whole bill).
EDUCATION | I graduated from Texas A&M University. During my time there, I stayed in the industry—picked up some bartending tricks and managed a craft beer and pizza joint. After graduation, I packed up and headed to Austin.
BACKGROUND CHECK | Fairmont Austin was my catalyst into hotels. I started as a bartender on the 7th floor and raised my hand—a lot. Banquets, pool, lobby bar—you name it. That hustle led me to New Waterloo, where I started as Service Manager at Hotel Ella. I was quickly promoted to Event Manager, and by the end of my time there, I was Director of Outlets.
Since then, I’ve been Director of Outlets on the opening team for Albert Hotel, where I played a key role in opening Keidel Pharmacy and the Saloon (biased, but it’s my favorite). I also supported F&B operations during hotel transitions at El Capitan and Hotel Revival and was on the opening team for Fidelity Hotel. Most recently, I opened Junebug’s BBQ at Albert and am still waiting on my honorary pitmaster badge.
Long story short: keep raising your hand.
